In a cooperative effort with N.S.P, A.S.K., and state and federal agencies, a four year study to evaluate management techniques and their effects on Karner Blue butterfly populations is under way.

FOUR YEAR STUDY PLAN 1997 Perform population counts of the Karner Blue butterfly. Identify vegetation of Karner habitat. 1998 Perform population counts of the Karner Blue butterfly. Identify vegetation of Karner habitat. Establish test plots. 1999 Perform management techniques. 2000 Perform population counts of the Karner Blue butterfly. Evaluate management effects on Karner Blue butterfly populations. Develop a management plan for existing sites.
